About the conference

The Department of English Language and Literature, Faculty of Education, Masaryk University, Brno, Czech Republic is pleased to announce its traditional biennial linguistic conference, which will take place in Brno on 8-9 September 2025.

The Eleventh Brno Conference on Linguistics Studies in English will be held under the title Where theory meets practice: Advances in English linguistics. We would like to welcome contributions that look into various aspects of the English language through the prism of its application, whether for general communication or in diverse professional settings, research, entertainment, study and teaching. Language is seen as a living organism that constantly changes as a result of multiple external and internal factors, and it is the role of linguistic research to identify and describe these factors and interpret their impact on the language.
